3.3 Create a collaborating platform for national think tanks, national and regional institutions,
ministries and policymakers to foster the uptake of economic policy research, analysis, data
sharing and dialogue.
3.3 Conduct an annual ‘think tank’ convention that focuses on emerging economic issues and current
research and policy recommendations.
3.3 Develop a Senior Policy Seminar experience that includes customized support services to assist
policymakers implement policy recommendations nationally.
3.3 Undertake country-level feasibility analysis to understand the policy landscape and the
specialized needs of policymakers throughout the SSA region.
3.3 Undertake country needs assessments, comparing and contrasting institutional needs with
individual researcher needs to understand the current gaps and develop future opportunities for
integration.
3.3 Create an in-house training programme at ministries and central banks, coordinated and
managed by the training and research programmes, on key economic issues at country and
regional levels.
3.3 Create subregional policy network associations with ownership and oversight maintained by
AERC.
3.4. Implement the visibility strategy in order to increase awareness of the AERC among funders and
other economic-policy actors in Africa.
3.4. Develop a policy communications programme at the national and regional level, aligning with
policy outreach initiatives underway in the region.
3.4 Develop digital and print-policy packages customized by country on economic issues; success
stories from other countries on implementation; and latest policy recommendations based on
AERC supported research.
3.4 Build a database of alumni using Salesforce for Education, identifying alumni by programme
participation and areas of research; topical areas of interest; country of residence; universities
attended; and latest research.
