Resignation of the AERC Executive Director.
August 11, 2023The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) wishes to inform all its stakeholders that its Executive Director, Professor Théophile Azomahou, has resigned from office. His resignation has been accepted by the Chairman of the AERC Board, Professor Ernest Aryeetey. In accepting the resignation, the Board Chair expressed his appreciation to Professor Azomahou for the significant work he did at AERC, first as Director of Training and then as Executive Director.
The Board of AERC would also like to inform all stakeholders that AERC business continues uninterrupted. Ms Mercy Kanyi, Chief Finance Officer, is currently in charge of the management of the Secretariat. An announcement will be made soon about the appointment of an Interim Executive Director and a new Director of Research.
