The launch of AERC goes back to the late 1980s, when a group of Africanists and African scholars recognized the disconnect between economic policy making and economic research in Africa.
The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) is transitioning from its current Strategic Plan (2020-2025) to a transformative 10-year Strategic Plan (2025-2035). This transition entails a comprehensive reorganization of AERC’s training activities. As a result, AERC will not issue new scholarships or grants to support new enrolments into the CPP, CMAP, and CMAAE programs during this period. For more information, please refer to the communique.
