Call for Expression of Interest for PROPEL Health Experts Database


PROPEL Health is implemented by Palladium in collaboration with African Economic Research Consortium, Avenir Health, Population Reference Bureau, RTI International, Samasha Medical Foundation, and the White Ribbon Alliance with funding from USAID and PEPFAR (HIV/AIDS activities). The project is running from 2022 -2027.PROPEL Health aims to improve the enabling environment for equitable and sustainable health services, supplies, and delivery systems through: (1) policy development and implementation, (2) adequate, predictable, and sustainable health financing, (3) enhanced government stewardship, transparency, and accountability, and (4) use of evidence-based advocacy approaches at global, national, and subnational levels to promote best practices. It focuses on family planning/reproductive health (FP/RH), primary healthcare, and the integration of FP/RH with HIV and maternal and child health (MCH).

As core implementing partner for PROPEL Health, AERC role in the project is to leverage its experience and networkofthinktanksanduniversitiesacrossAfrica,workingwithPalladiumandotherPROPELpartners (1) to strengthen capacity of policy researchers and policy makers in using evidence to inform decision making, (2) strengthen policy dialogue between economic and health decisionmakers and technical experts o supporting researchers, PROPEL country teams, and government representatives across Africa to translate evidence and analyses into policy recommendations, (3) conducting training workshops and mentoring teams in PROPEL countries to apply economic and fiscal policy analysis approaches and apply these results to health policy decisions.

In the call for expression of interest AERC on behalf of PROPEL Health is seeking primary healthcare, health economics, healthcare governance, planning and policy, human resource for health , healthcare finance and health systems experts in sub-Saharan Africa to increase its pool of experts in the project implementation.
