EAC Stakeholders Converge in Dar to Discuss Financial Policies for Residents
November 6, 2024Stakeholders in the East African Community met in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for a summit on policies on digital economic finance. They engaged in conversations about financial policies that would cater to all residents of the EAC and empower them by educating them on digital finance literacy.
During the event, Prof. Humphrey Moshi stated, “Policies are more important than anything else. Now, the policy is looking at how to be inclusive of everyone in the (digital) economy.”
Speaking at the Regional Policy Forum, EAC Member of Parliament Dr. Abdullah Makame added that the policies should be inclusive to cater to more citizens of the EAC. “There are some who want to break free from poverty and better their lives, but the system has marginalised them,” he said.
