Appointment of Prof. Dominique Njinkeu as AERC Interim Executive Director
August 17, 2023The African Economic Research Consortium is glad to inform its esteemed members and stakeholders that following the resignation of Prof. Theophile Azomahou, the AERC Board has approved the appointment of Professor Dominique Njinkeu as Interim Executive Director from 21st August 2023 to 31st December 2023.
Dominque is an International Consultant and Director of the African Trade and Sustainable Development, a Washington DC- Metro-based consulting firm undertaking policy analysis and providing advisory service to governments, regional economic communities, and development agencies in low-income countries, particularly in Africa. He was previously the Lead Trade Facilitation Specialist and Program Manager of the World Bank Group Trade Facilitation Facility, World Bank in Washington DC. From 2003-2009, Dominique was the Executive Director at the International Lawyers and Economists Against Poverty (ILEAP) located in Toronto, Canada.
Dominique has previous experience with the AERC, having worked as the Deputy Director of Research at the AERC in 1998-2003. He also served as a Resource Person within the AERC Thematic Research Programme. He comes back to the AERC as a well-known and highly respected member of the Network.
Professor Njinkeu will take on the role of Interim Executive Director of the AERC, from 21 August to 31 December 2023. The AERC Board wishes him well in this role.
