AERC/PASHFARM project holds its third Project Steering Committee meeting
October 24, 2024The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC)-Policy Analysis for Sustainable and Healthy Foods in African Retail Markets (PASHFARM) project held its third Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting on Wednesday the 9th of October 2024. The meeting was held online and attended by the Steering Committee members including Prof. Soji Adelaja, a John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor in Land Policy based at the Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics (AFRE), Michigan State University; Prof. Tom Ondicho based at the Department of Anthropology, Gender, and African Studies, University of Nairobi; Prof. Dominique Njinkeu based at the African Trade and Sustainable Development, Washington DC; and Prof. Bernadette Dia Kamgnia, among other resource persons.
The objectives of the meeting were to review the twenty research projects spread over 15 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and the outcomes of the workshop held on 17-19 September 2024; discuss the policy engagements for the project; the publication outlets for the research papers; and project participation at the Agriculture, Nutrition and Health 2025 (ANH25) conference, among other items. The Steering Committee members were happy with the project progress and looked forward to high quality research outputs that would influence markets to avail nutritious foods to low-income consumers in sub-Saharan Africa.
