The 2nd Queen of Eswatini, Her Royal Highness (HRH), Queen Nozizwe Ka Mulela-Zulu, who is also the Managing Director of the Bank of Eswatini recently, during her visit to Kenya, held talks with a team from the AERC at the Trademark hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, on 26 November 2022. This was due to an invitation extended to her by the AERC Ag. Executive Director, Prof. Théophile Azomahou, for initial talks on collaborative activities between the AERC and Eswatini. She was briefed on AERC, its mission, and the various ongoing Training and Research programmes in Eswatini.

The Ag. Executive Director Prof. Azomahou also informed her about the Governors Forum and the need for the Governor of the Central Bank of Eswatini to join this forum. Queen Nozizwe informed the team present that, through the Bank of Eswatini, she has been carrying out related activities with the University of Eswatini and ESEPARC, the main collaborative partners of AERC in Eswatini. She was, therefore, eager to participate in the programmes and promised to be AERC’s person on the ground to create the much-needed inroads and referrals. She further undertook to initiate introductory talks for AERC and the Governor of the Bank of Eswatini, Dr. Phil Mnisi, as soon as she received an official written communication from the AERC.
