CPP - Joint
facility for Electives
The CPP Joint Facility for Electives (JFE) is based
at the Kenya Commercial Bank Management Centre, in the
scenic suburb of Karen on the outskirts of Nairobi.
The JFE for the pioneer 19 students of the Collaborative
PhD Programme commenced on 6 October 2003, although
the Facility was not inaugurated until 27 October 2003.
Six elective courses were offered at the inaugural
PhD JFE session. These are :
- Development Economics
- Econometrics
- Financial Economics
- Health Economics
- International Economics
- Public Sector Economics
The second CPP JFE spanned teh period July 4-November
1, 2004. 25 CPP class of 2003 students participated
in the activity and courses in seven elective fields
were offered, namely agricultural economics, development
economics, econometrics, environmental economies, financial
economics, international economics and labour economics.
the third CPP JFE is due to start on July 4, 2005 with
27 students: 21 sponsored students, one student partially
sponsored by the AERC, and 5 students sponsored outside
AERC resources.
