MA Scholarships

AERC provides a number of scholarships to aspiring students admitted in category B and category C universities. To merit consideration, candidates should apply and be accepted by one of the category B or category C universities. The Head of the Economics Department at their respective university should endorse applications for AERC support. Amongst other qualifying factors, criteria for selection for AERC support include the following:

  • Applicant must have attained at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Economics or related field from an accredited university; 
  • Must possess admission into any of the CMAP category B or category C universities; and
  • Qualified women and applicants from post-conflict and fragile states are particularly encouraged to apply.

Upon receipt of an admission letter from the specific university, candidates should submit their application for scholarship to AERC on This email address is being protected from spambots. In addition, candidates should attach their curriculum vitae and certified copies of their academic certificates and transcripts. The deadline for applying for the scholarship is usually indicated every year on the announcement placed on the AERC website (usually it is not later than May).
